My wife has an eMAc that has developed a problem. Any time she tries to download a file from the web, absolutely nothing happens. This is true for both Firefox and Safari and applies to any type of file (picture, game etc.) On the other hand, updates from Apple download fine and my laptop downloads fine when plugged into her cable modem. She is running the latest version of OS X and the start of the problem does not seem to coincide with any new software being installed.
Any ideas as to what might be the cause?

My Mac computer won't let me download anything? Asked by Wiki User. Be the first to answer! Because the mac wont let u download combat arms what i mean is that the program wont let u download. There is a large blue button 'Download Chrome' and below it 'For Mac OS X 10.6 or later'. I click on the button. Result: the whole screen goes gray, and all links are de-activated, like a 'lightbox' effect, and nothing else?! Safari Version 8.0 (10600.1.25) On a Mac OS X Yosemite Version 10.10 iMac 27-inch.
